Ah, just two more weeks of school left. Some of you may have already begun summer vacation, but those of you who are like me, are still trying to finish the home stretch of this school year out strong. About a month or two ago, I couldn’t wait until summer. Summer couldn’t come fast enough. But with only a few weeks left, call me crazy, but a part of me wishes that this school year can last a bit longer.
In order for teachers to teach, and students to learn, one criteria must be met. That is simply trust. This responsibility initially lies on the teacher; he or she must begin to establish this trust, the connection with students that makes them feel willing to learn from him/her. The teacher must show that they are willing to trust their students before students can trust the teacher. Otherwise, students will say to themselves, “Why should I listen to this person in front of the class?” Continue reading
