APUSH, or Advanced Placement US History, is a class that was made for students that wanted more out of history. It goes in depth on all major events that have occurred in the United States. Oklahoma, as you may or may not have heard, has decided that the course itself is “unpatriotic,” and “consistently negative,” so they’ve decided to remove it and replace it with something more positive. WHAT? I’m shocked something so incredibly stupid could be ratified in Oklahoma. Continue reading
“Happy Lunar New Year” aka “Chúc Mừng Năm Mới” aka “Gong Xi Gong Xi” or however you want to say it and whichever language you want to say it, tis the season of Chinese New Year and you know what that means right? Red envelopes, fireworks, “cleaning up” etc., these are some of the traditional components that make up the the Chinese culture that we know today. But why are these traditions so significant and why are they celebrated they way they are?
Have you ever heard a tune you liked and tried to replicate it’s melody, whether using an instrument or your body? If so, I can tell you with confidence that you are, in fact, a musician. Continue reading
In 1989, Marty McFly taught us all that he’s no chicken.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
So last week, we discussed about some possible last minute cheap gifts for your Valentine date as well as proposing recommendations on an ideal gift. Last week, we briefly went over the gift of experience, but today, with Valentine’s day tomorrow, we will go more in depth and discuss different types of “experiences” plus why I think they can be so meaningful.
You can’t hit what you can’t see.
And in most modern day fighting movies, you can’t see anything.
It seems that we’ve misplaced our age old slap stick.
As this school year has gone on, I’ve realized something. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try on a story, essay, review, or whatever it might be, you won’t be happy with how it turned out. Everybody writing blogs here does regular peer editing with each other, and almost every single session one of us will look around and say, “Guys, I’m so sorry for what you’re about to read,” or something along those lines. It’s never a really serious comment, but it’s obvious that whatever we wrote didn’t meet our expectations that we initially had created for it.
Valentines Day is just around the corner and you know what that means right? Stress. Some of you may have already crossed your Valentine gift off your to-do list, but there are always those many who are currently reading this, while scratching their head in utter confusion and desperation of what the ideal Valentine gift for their significant other should be. Well fear no more for I have come up with a Valentine cramming solution guide.
